Black and Minority Ethnic Employment for All

Swansea YMCA have successfully secured a new project that aims to enable people from ethnic minority backgrounds to get them back to work through offering help with job search activities, pre-employment training activities and any other training or courses that will lead to employment.

The project is part of a Wales wide programme lead by, AWEMA - All Wales Ethnic Minority Association, who have successfully secured a £4 million grant from European Social Fund for three years to run the project in the Convergence Programme Area.

The project will work towards "Increasing Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) employment and tackle BME economic inactivity" and will provide work and skills opportunities for over 1,000 people across West Wales and the Valleys area.

All project participants will receive direct support from the project team who include a Development Officer, Administrator and Support Worker.
Swansea YMCA will be delivering this project in 3 of the convergence areas namely: Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Neath / Port Talbot.

If you are interested in becoming part of this project as a participant or volunteer or are interested in receiving further details please get in touch:
